Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical, and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements. DDC teaches Contemporary Dance in our classes because it allows the dancer to have freedom of movement, allowing their bodies to freely express their innermost feelings. students can move and explore their individual dance styles. In addition, this dance style promotes a storyteller's mind. Students can use quick changes of pace and direction to tell a story or evoke an emotion. This dance style requires the dancer to tap into their creativity in order to continuously discover new movements.
